In the Mood for Love

Do you also just love to buy pretty bras and cute panties, just to feel pretty and sexy? Or maybe to tease your significant other for some sexy time, hehe. Though, everything will be taken off in just seconds... sigh. I do have to say that wearing something like below, gives me a certain confidence boost and a Queen B feeling. Valentine is almost here, though I think it's overly hyped and don't celebrate it, because a. forever alone, b.every day should be like Valentines day with your lover and c.TREAT YO SELF, self-love baby!

I've made two colourful moodboards with girly bras and panties from Adore Me. (They have some damn sexy, good looking stuff there) I usually like to wear minimal designs everyday, but now and then something more frilly or lace is always nice. How about you? Do you have any plans for the day of love? Let me know in the comments below!

Daily Snaps #02

So, I'm back! I've been gone for a while due to the exams and my jury. It has finally come to an end and I thought to come back with some daily snaps that I didn't posted on Instagram. As you will see/read, a lot of school stuff. Hope you enjoy these kind of posts! Anyway, I'm back blogging regularly.

1 + 2. Together with Mayke, Robbert and I, we got the opportunity to create a year review of last year's school events. The publication came out perfectly and are super happy with the result. We were also invited to the New Year's reception of our school and had to present our publication for all the teachers (with loads of nerves). Afterwards we drank a bit too much wine and enjoyed the cheese fondue and Nutella desserts. That evening it was also snowing like crazy and the snow stayed here for a little while, which is beauuutiful to see. But I didn't see much on the bike, especially when you are wearing glasses!

3. The week after this event, I had my jury graphic design, a jury to see your master's work progress. I was constantly busy with movie titles, from Jean-Luc Godard to Gaspar Noé, but didn't know where I was heading to. I had too much information, and didn't felt really inspired to create something out of it. So, I closed that chapter and changed my Master's subject during my Christmas vacation. I'm working around my name, which is Gladys (not Doris, that's part of my middle name). I'm creating word plays with it, such as: Glad to see you Gladys. More about it later. If you are interested in my work and process, I created a new Instagram account for it. There isn't much on it yet, but if you're curious what I'm doing as a graphic design student, have a look. (@gladysdumez)

1. I checked out the sales in the design shop, Ydee, in Ghent. I bought these little glass dishes(?) for my jewellery or other bits and bobs. They are like these things that people use in a laboratory to grow bacteria or mold. 2 + 3. Had my first meeting for Mayday Mayday Festival. It's an art festival in Ghent that is organised/made by students and it's for student. Together with my classmates, Lieselot and Sofie, we will create a visual identity for this year's edition.

1, 2 + 3. Mayke, Robbert and I are also working on the movie posters for school. We decided to do this after our great teamwork for the publication. We even called our selves 'Belgische Vlag' (Belgian Flag) for fun, because at our first meeting with the head of our school, we looked like the Belgian flag: Robbert dressed entirely in black, I had a yellowish jacket on and Mayke wore a red turtleneck. Next to our outfits, we also have a great working vibe, from ordering pizza late night at school, singing and dancing as if our lives were a musical to getting stupidly mad at each other (just for fun). A must-see.

1, 2 +3. Last week I signed up for an intensive workshop week, 'How to do things with books'. There were lectures about performance art, staging, rehearsals and appropriation art, and we were divided in reading groups and a cooking group. All linked with the object book. The last day of the workshop we had to do our own performance art, which was interesting. It was held at my school in this room with a big mirror 'cube'. This container consist loads of books donated from curators. It was a nice, but very intense workshop.

1 + 2.  Printed the first movie posters for next week's movie and decided to put the posters in the black boxes at our school on a rainy evening. Which isn't very smart, but we managed with a lot of screaming, panicking, running to get them all dry in the black boxes. 3. TREAT YO SELF! Exams are done, intense workshop has come to an end and first posters are a succes! And finally back to blogging! Treated myself to some new shoes from the sales at &OtherStories!

Girly Granny

This was a very impulsive buy with the thought of 'Will I ever wear this? Ain't that too cute?'. Look at the frills and the flower pattern, just couldn't resist it. Feeling very girly and granny at the same time, and I'm actually loving it very much. As my style is very black and pretty simple, it's cool to play a bit more with playful pieces.

Christmas vacation has ended and honestly it didn't feel like a vacation at all. I was sick, worked for school and thought about my master assignment all the time. (But hey, let's be positive) Because my second semester at school is almost in sight, I thought to change my blogging schedule. Maybe every other day, no weekends, or just whenever I feel like. Trying to figure it out what's best. Anyway, signing off, I'll get myself a hot coco and going to watch some youtube vids from Arden Rose! Discovered this gem recently and I'm obsessed with her talks and humor. Go check her out! Bye!

New Year, New Me, New Hair?

New Year, new me, new hair! Not really, but I have been thinking about it. Lately, I feel bored with my current hairstyle. A not short, but also not long cut with no volume. I don't style it that much, but when I do it's sometimes a ponytail or a low bun once in a while. And extra tools to give some needed volume. Below I've gathered some pictures from my long ombré hair to now. I don't have a specific favourite, but I do know that I don't like the last one that much, haha. Also scrolling through my old pictures make me realise how much more colourful I was before. Anyway, do you have a favourite? Let me know in the comments below!

It happened during the weekend, feeling that sudden urge for a drastic change. Not even hairstyle, but also clothes, environment, interior, food etc. I've almost chopped a big piece of my hair, but instead I did other things to soften my lust for a hair change. I decluttered my desk, rearranged my folders on my laptop, cleaned out my closet, woke up everyday at 7a.m. and added blue berries instead of banana to my regular muesli with yogurt in the morning. Haha anyone who feels the same way? I'll come back at you with some new hairstyle possibilities!

Treat yo Self a Bag

So after two birthday giftcards from the &OtherStories and a long wait of consideration, I finally bought a new bag. Their bags ain't Gucci or Prada, but still pricey for a student like me. I rather spend my money on books, comfort food, ten million different kinds of nail polish or cute stationary stuff that I won't use ever again in the future. I don't own a lot of bags, but I do own tons of tote bags. But you know, sometimes you need to be a bit classy, organised (finding things in a tote bag can be hell) or just have a new bag. Why not you know, treat yo self. Though, I've spend literally nothing, thanks to amazing friends. Just having this bag, also reminds me how a bag feels like. So structured with all these compartments, zips and so on. Aaah.

Orange & Fruity

Damn, I keep surprising myself. I'm wearing more colour these days and I don't even have a resolution for it, wow. Got myself a mustard/orange, cropped puffer jacket and I'm loving it, even though I always feel like an actual orange, when wearing this. A fruity juicy orange! Ok, that's weird. It's funny that this has been or still is a trend. When I was little, maybe 10, I owned a dark brown, oversized puffer coat that I hated so so so much. Think of the Michelin guyMy mom forced me to wear it, because she thought it looked (insert filipino accent) 'berry berry bootipul and it's berry berry cold outside'. Anyway did I tell you that I bought something red in the sales! Shocking!
